Zinc Alloy Die Casting Faucet Handle

2025-03-12

Kaiping Huilian Hardware Industry Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer of die-cast series Faucet Handles and bodies as well as stainless steel Shower Heads, tubular spouts and other accessories.

Zinc die casting is a process that involves melting a zinc alloy (hence the name zinc alloy die casting) and injecting it into a prepared die casting mold. Zinc alloys are suitable for part manufacturing due to their ductility, impact strength and low melting point.

Advantages of Zinc Alloy Die Castings

Stronger parts with thinner walls: Zinc alloys are stronger than other materials such as plastic or aluminum. This means that zinc castings can be produced with thinner walls and less material, optimizing strength in ways that other materials cannot. For example, aluminum may appear to cost less per pound, but its castings may require more material and cost to achieve the same strength.

Faster production: Zinc alloys require lower melting temperatures, higher pressure injection, and have higher cycle rates. Cycle rates are 150-200% higher than other competing materials such as aluminum. As the aluminum is poured into the mold, we are able to inject zinc at a higher rate. Die cast zinc alloys solidify quickly. This allows us to produce more parts in the same amount of time and pass on the cost savings to our customers.

Closer Tolerances, No Machining Required: Zinc alloys allow us to produce high-quality parts with tighter tolerances than aluminum or plastic. The fluidity of zinc provides greater precision than other materials, allowing designs that do not require additional expensive machining and/or other operations.

Longer Tool Life: One of the great benefits of zinc die casting is that a typical zinc mold will last 10 times longer than an aluminum mold. Zinc, as a material, is less abrasive and melts at a lower temperature. As a result, aluminum tools wear more, shortening tool life and prematurely affecting part quality. Using zinc alloys for parts can save you a significant amount of money over the life of your product by reducing tooling and PPAP costs.
